Let's Have a Baby

Since my blood pressure was high my OB decided to induce me. So with one last picture of being pregnant (in Max's room) we went to St. Vincents Sunday night to start the induction.

Huge, uncomfortable, swollen...I'm ready to have this baby!

HBP

As my luck would have it my blood pressure went up. I am about 38 weeks and my blood pressure is in the high 120'/80's. Not high for a lot of people but for me it is. During my last appointment my OB admitted me to the hospital and of course it went back down after Micah ran the 10 min. from school to the hospital.

Micah's sweaty back
Swollen feet :0)
My OB put me on bedrest and said an

induction is probably in my very near future.

Name My Blog...please

SO.....
Max will be here before we know it and I will need to join the
RANKS of cool family blog names.

SO....
What are your ideas? I mean all of our names will start with an "M" it shouldn't be hard right?

If I choose your name I probably wont send you a cute, crafty prize because chances are you could make something cuter, but I'll love you forever and publicly thank you. =)

SO....
Get to work

p.s. This will not cut it anymore...sorry

Max Update

I went to the OB this morning and Max is head down and weighing an estimated 6lb 10 oz. which puts him in the 66th percentile. We all know that this information is just a guesstimate but that's what they told me.
I think he has my nose...

and my lips...what do you think?

They also admitted me to the hospital today because I had high blood pressure. It was in the 140's/90's which is high for me and I think my OB is being overly cautious since I am considered "High Risk". Anyway, they put me on bed rest for the weekend and I have to go back to my OB on Monday. I feel just fine and think it's a little ridiculous but I'll be good. ;)

It's been a fun anniversary, lying in bed...poor Micah!

Alabama Baby Shower

Have I mentioned how cool my life is? ;)
I had three baby showers and to end all the baby bliss was the shower thrown by three of my closest, coolest, bestest friends here in Birmingham. Mary, Alicia, and Mindi did such a great job and I will never be able to fully thank them!!
I love you girls and thanks again!!
Each of them made one of the letters...

Mary's diaper cake...as if she didn't do enough...;)

Soup bowls for the soup bar...SO COOL!
Beautiful deccorations....
Not even half of the food that they had...
I stole this picture from Alicia's blog, she made me this blanket and
I LOVE it so much!
The girls I LOVE!!

Book of Mormon Read-A-Thon

Our YM/YW read the entire BOM starting Friday night
and ended Saturday night.
They stopped only to pray over the food
and when they left to sleep.
Only a couple missed the weekend and with the
whole ward helping with food
it was a HUGE success!

The kids actually left their cell phones out in the hall. I told them I didn't care if they texted when they got up to use the bathroom and it really worked out!

I made little goody bags with bottle water, crystal light packets, candy, red scripture pencils, and gum.

I should've taken a picture before all the youth arrived to show how nice it all looked.
We ended up have around 22 kids in attendance.

Adult "guest" readers would show up periodically to give the kids a break but the youth really liked to read and would go sit on the couch when they felt like reading a couple chapters.

WE DID IT!!!
I couldn't have done it without all the help from the members who brought so much food, it
was an unforgettable weekend!

Let me brag for a minute...

I knew he could do it!!!!
Micah passed his first round of National Boards. He will have two more parts before he will become a Dr. but I know he is relieved that the first part is over. The second part is this fall and the last part is right before he graduates a year from now.
I couldn't find a picture of just him in his white coat so here we are.
I love you Micah, way to go!

Stake Conference with an Apostle

Micah and I met L. Tom Perry today after our Stake Conference. I wasn't going to wait in line so as I was sitting up front I saw that there was a pause in the line and he was just standing there so I reached up to shake his hand. He asked me if I always carried a bottle of water around with me and I told him that since I am pregnant I try to drink lots of water and he said that it was a good habit to have. What a sweet spirit he carries. He was so funny and joked a lot about being the oldest Apostle and how he is the liveliest and healthiest. He will forever be the first Apostle I have ever met and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Micah's Dad makes a visit

Micah's Dad came for a short weekend visit to speak at UAB.
It's so nice when we have family come see us because it rarely happens...cough, cough...not trying to make anyone feel guilty. =)
Of course Micah took him shooting and here is a picture of Micah's Honor Society certificate...I'm a proud wife.

Blue Angels

Micah was in HEAVEN last weekend when we went to see the Blue Angels in Tuscaloosa. We plugged up the iphone to the speakers in our car to listen to General Conference and were on our way! We had no idea what we were in for. So... I didn't realize that a free air show with the BA was such a big deal and Tuscaloosa didn't either because they were not ready for the 200,000+ people who were in attendance. Micah had a ball, took too many pictures, and I got a funnel cake so everyone was happy! We were asked by a family of 6 to drive them to their car 5 miles away, they were so sweet and left $40 in our car, so we went out to dinner and had CRAB!!! AHHHH, my favorite!
Anyway as far as an update goes, I'm doing the same...still throwing up a ton but Max is doing great and moving more and more each day. We had a name ready if it was a boy and it is Bryant Maxwell Kinney and we will call him Max.
Micah has 4 weeks left of class and then he is a 4th year. I can't believe how fast our time in Birmingham has gone and I wish it would slow down. He will spend his 4th year in different hospitals and clinics around here and is really excited about it.

We hope everyone has a good Easter weekend! Easter is my second favorite holiday because of my Grandma Kuta who always made it so special for us! I always miss Virginia this time of year...there is nothing better than the millions of apple and cherry blossoms that take bloom but Birmingham never disappoints...it is so beautiful here, we sure do love Alabama!
