Let me brag for a minute...

I knew he could do it!!!!
Micah passed his first round of National Boards. He will have two more parts before he will become a Dr. but I know he is relieved that the first part is over. The second part is this fall and the last part is right before he graduates a year from now.
I couldn't find a picture of just him in his white coat so here we are.
I love you Micah, way to go!

Stake Conference with an Apostle

Micah and I met L. Tom Perry today after our Stake Conference. I wasn't going to wait in line so as I was sitting up front I saw that there was a pause in the line and he was just standing there so I reached up to shake his hand. He asked me if I always carried a bottle of water around with me and I told him that since I am pregnant I try to drink lots of water and he said that it was a good habit to have. What a sweet spirit he carries. He was so funny and joked a lot about being the oldest Apostle and how he is the liveliest and healthiest. He will forever be the first Apostle I have ever met and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Micah's Dad makes a visit

Micah's Dad came for a short weekend visit to speak at UAB.
It's so nice when we have family come see us because it rarely happens...cough, cough...not trying to make anyone feel guilty. =)
Of course Micah took him shooting and here is a picture of Micah's Honor Society certificate...I'm a proud wife.

Blue Angels

Micah was in HEAVEN last weekend when we went to see the Blue Angels in Tuscaloosa. We plugged up the iphone to the speakers in our car to listen to General Conference and were on our way! We had no idea what we were in for. So... I didn't realize that a free air show with the BA was such a big deal and Tuscaloosa didn't either because they were not ready for the 200,000+ people who were in attendance. Micah had a ball, took too many pictures, and I got a funnel cake so everyone was happy! We were asked by a family of 6 to drive them to their car 5 miles away, they were so sweet and left $40 in our car, so we went out to dinner and had CRAB!!! AHHHH, my favorite!
Anyway as far as an update goes, I'm doing the same...still throwing up a ton but Max is doing great and moving more and more each day. We had a name ready if it was a boy and it is Bryant Maxwell Kinney and we will call him Max.
Micah has 4 weeks left of class and then he is a 4th year. I can't believe how fast our time in Birmingham has gone and I wish it would slow down. He will spend his 4th year in different hospitals and clinics around here and is really excited about it.

We hope everyone has a good Easter weekend! Easter is my second favorite holiday because of my Grandma Kuta who always made it so special for us! I always miss Virginia this time of year...there is nothing better than the millions of apple and cherry blossoms that take bloom but Birmingham never disappoints...it is so beautiful here, we sure do love Alabama!

BOY OH BOY

We're having a boy! I haven't had too many "maternal instincts" as to what the gender was until the other night when I had a dream that the ultrasound tech said it was a boy. We are so happy!! Everything looks good and he is measuring to date. I am also doing fine with my Heparin...still throwing up but it's really become a part of my life now. =)

Here is the determining factor...what a boy!

This one is a little scary but I know he wont look like that for long. =)
Thank you for all of your support and prayers! I am so excited to buy boy clothes now. I just picked up some little red shorts with lobsters on them...now I need a little sailor suit for this Navy Baby!

Knocked Up!

Yup, you guessed it...I'm pregnant. 12 weeks and feeling, well...excited. I know I am WAAAYYY behind on posts but I will catch up on that later. Micah and I found out that we were pregnant on Thanksgiving day...so far I have been pretty sick, throwing up everyday so the doctor put me on some medication that works sometimes. It's funny because I have tried EVERYTHING.... I mean, EVERYTHING!!! So I keep food on my stomach pretty regularly and that is all I am going to say about that!!

I am also considered High Risk because of the blood clot I had in my lung last year. So, I have to give myself 2 shots of Heparin a day until 6 weeks postpartum to prevent a clot from forming so hopefully everything will be A-OK!

I will put up ultra sound pictures soon...we feel very blessed and excited to have this new chapter beginning in our lives. As soon as I can stop throwing up long enough to study, I will take my nursing boards and get a job. =)

I finally got around to putting up some pictures from pinning in December. I was so happy that my Mom, Dad, and Aunt were able to come down from Virginia for the weekend.

Here I am "holding it together" while Micah pinned me with my Nurse Pin =)

A free Saturday...what is that?

I've never been big on complaining about being busy. I mean, who isn't right? And we don't even have kids yet. =) But this semester Micah and I have found ourselves a bit "free time challenged" with me having to fit all my hours in at the hospital (13 hour days) and classes, Micah with school, both of us with our callings with the youth at church, working at the temple every other Saturday, projects, papers, and tests, and trying to have some kind of social life. I was thinking, we haven't done any "cutesy, young married, childless things" in a while so I stole Micah from his books and we went to Oak Mountain. I think we missed the really bright colors of fall but here are some typical fall pictures of the beautiful trees here in B'ham.
We ended our afternoon at the Tip Top grill
in Bluff Park, can't beat the view!

This was a picture I got coming out of class one rainy day.
It's a bit overcast but I love this hill.

I always (well for the past three fall's) get a picture of this tree in our "back yard". Of course this picture doesn't do it justice but it's my favorite.

An Office Halloween

For Halloween Micah and I were Dwight and Angela from the Office. The torn lovers who have to keep their relationship a secret at Dunder Mifflin. We took this look to Trunk-or-Treat and I think people thought I just busted out my favorite holiday sweater for the event. Luckily, Micah and I made name tags so everyone would know who we were. We went to four different Goodwill's/Salvation Army's in a quest for the perfect cat sweater to pull off the "Angela Look" since she loves cats. After rummaging through racks and racks of old lady holiday sweaters, we came to the conclusion that no one gives up their cat sweaters. Cat ladies love their cats and can not bare to part with the 2nd best thing that keeps them warm at night. Although I found plenty of sweaters with cat hair on them, gross, I ended up with a Halloween sweater vest with a cat on it. For $2 you can't beat that right? Angela would be proud...or disgusted.

Our best Dwight and Angela faces

That's some serious hair spray to get that perfect Dwight quaff

Angela:
The DaVinci Code. I would bring The DaVinci Code. So I could burn The DaVinci Code.
Dwight:
Yeah right, that would keep you warm for like 7 seconds.
